99th Volt

99 VoltsAs of December 31, 2018, I have sold 99 new Chevy Volts. Number 100 is already scheduled for January 2nd.

Although General Motors has announced the end of the Volt, I still believe it is the perfect plug-in vehicle for today, considering the current state of charging infrastructure. In my opinion, GM pulled the plug a couple years too soon (surprise, surprise). My love of the Volt is unaffected by the decision to end it. I am absolutely crazy about my new 2018!

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

  1. The Volt is the best plug-in hybrid on the market. GM should have migrated the technology to all its models instead of killing the best PHEV on the market. Crazy.

My neighbors like to drive to Louisiana and Vegas periodically, and they don’t want an all-electric. A Volt, or slightly larger vehicle with Volt technology, would have been perfect. A lot of Texans would agree if the Volt had been adequately marketed by GM. Sad.

  2. Buick To Launch New High-Volume BEV & PHEV In China

The K226, Buick’s next-generation PHEV sedan, features a planned capacity of 48,000 units on an annual basis. The new model measures 4,672mm long, 1,817mm wide and 1,487mm high with a wheelbase 2,706mm.

Meanwhile, according to another article, there are at least 10 Chinese start-ups vying to export their EVs to the U.S. Years from now, will we hear GM complain that it can’t compete against Chinese imports?
