Right down the road, from where I work, is an Audi dealership. Today, at lunchtime, I decided to see if they actually had an e tron in stock. They had at least two that I saw, one in the showroom and a test drive unit (which was being test-driven and unavailable for me to drive). I told the person who greeted me that I didn’t want to waste a salesperson’s time, as I was not in the market. I explained I was just an EV enthusiast and blogger.
Nonetheless, they brought over a gentleman named Daniel to show the e tron to me. He was cordial and when I asked how many salespeople they had, that understood the car, he said, “There are four of us.” I liked the confidence in his response.
First off, let me say this: The e tron is not a competitor for the Bolt EV. At approximately twice the price of an entry-level Bolt EV, it was built to compete with the likes of Tesla. I saw lots of things I liked, but the thing that made the biggest impression on me, was the sound of the doors closing. The e tron is solidly built and its build quality may entice Tesla owners to take a look. With a zero-to-sixty time slightly faster than a Model 3, it is not a “Ludicrous Mode” type of EV. It is a very nicely appointed SUV with an EPA range estimate of 204 miles per charge and plenty of room for passengers and cargo. It isn’t as efficient as the Bolt EV, but has tons of torque and dual motors, giving it all wheel drive.
I took a few quick photos, so the lighting is not the best. Nonetheless, I have posted them here for your review. I look forward to test-driving one soon and would love to review it.
Enjoy!

Hi Buzz, I was in Europe last week and saw an e-tron on the street in Paris. The only thing lacking in the car is an additional 50+ miles range. Other than that, I sure do like it.
