2017 Chevy Bolt EV shows up in AutoBook configurator

This morning, as I was getting my day at work started, I opened the General Motors “AutoBook” application, which I use to configure vehicles for customer order. Much to my delight, the 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV is now in the configuration software!

This does NOT mean I can order one quite yet…but it’s a good first step.

Here is the configuration option screen for the lower-level Bolt EV (LT):LT Bolt EV

Here is the configuration option screen for the upper-level Bolt EV (Premier):AutoBook-PremierWhat I’ve noticed is the following:

  • Paint options are almost the same. The Premier gets an extra color: Silver Ice Metallic.
  • The LT has only one seating option: Dark Galvanized/Sky Cool Gray cloth. The Premier has three leather options (but no cloth): Dark Galvanized/Sky Cool GrayDark Galvanized Gray and Light Ash Gray/Ceramic White.
  • The LT offers a Comfort and Convenience Package, which adds heated seats, heated steering wheel and auto-dimming rearview mirror (standard features on the Premier).
  • Unlike the Chevy Volt, the entry-level Bolt EV has an optional Driver Confidence Package, which adds Side Blind Zone Alert w/ Lane Change Alert, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Rear Parking Assist, which are standard on the Premier. The Driver Confidence Package requires the Comfort and Convenience Package, as a prerequisite.
  • The Premier also has a few options not available on the LT (of course), like:
    • Infotainment Package: Adds Bose speakers, wireless device charging and two USB charging-only ports for the back seat passengers.
    • Driver Confidence II Package: Adds Low Speed Automatic Braking, Lane Keep Assist w/Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, Following Distance Indicator, Front Pedestrian Braking and Intellibeam Headlamps. The Driver Confidence II Package requires the Comfort and Convenience Package, as a prerequisite.
  • Other options, available on both trim levels, include:
    • Aluminum sill plates
    • All weather floor mats
    • All weather cargo mat
    • black or dark silver grille (paint color restrictions apply)
    • universal tablet holders
    • CCS fast charging capability
    • Wheel locks

Have fun checking the options out. I have no pricing information, other than entry-level pricing starts at $37,495+TT&L, has been released yet.

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

    1. I checked the configurator today and the prices have NOT been added, as of yet. The dealer in question, is located in Oklahoma, so I’m not sure how they would have gotten pricing.

      1. Yeah, the pricing seems to match up with similar options on the Volt or Spark EV. ($750 for DC Charging on the Spark, $495 for Driver Confidence on Volt, $395 for premium paint on Volt etc.)

So they may just be dealer estimates.
