2022 Chevy Bolt EV/EUV sales training

As you hopefully know, I train dealerships on electric vehicle sales and sales management techniques. Occasionally, I am contracted by an OEM or a company that creates and/or delivers training to dealerships for OEMs, like Jack Morton. Last Autumn, Jack Morton recruited me to be part of a team that delivered sales training on the 2020 Chevy Bolt EV to Chevrolet dealership salespeople in their South-Central Region. As this was performed in the middle of a pandemic, the program was delivered via a series of Zoom sessions. It was very well received and was subsequently rolled out to three other Chevrolet dealer regions.

This week I had a great time working with Jack Morton Worldwide again, on a sales training video for the 2022 Chevy Bolt EV/EUV.

Another bonus was that my on-screen cohort, for most of the show, was Nigel Zeid. Mutual friends have been trying for a while to get us connected, but our schedules seemed to always conflict. Finally, we met in a Zoom planning meeting for the videos we shot this week. As we listened to one another, it was shocking how strikingly similar our messages to EV salespeople are. I guess that happens, when you’ve successfully sold EVs for a living, as Nigel & I have.

What we discovered, upon meeting in person, is that we shared other traits…

When we sent photos of ourselves together, to our wives, Nigel’s wife texted “twins from different mothers,” and my wife texted, “Twins.”

The video shoot was hosted by Five Star Chevrolet of Carrollton, Texas and they graciously opened their dealership to us, on a Sunday, for the first day of shooting.

The test drive demonstration video was scheduled to be shot the next morning. On that Monday morning, we woke up to forecasted rain and at times, is was really pouring. However, the rain let up enough for us to get the project completed by day’s end and it was a hoot! I had asked for the person representing a Bolt EV customer to be someone who had never driven an EV before. Jack Morton employee, Kimsa was selected and she was fantastic. Her natural reaction to that first punch of the accelerator would definitely go viral, if General Motors ever released it to social media!

Of course, the rain stopped and the streets dried completely, within one half hour of us wrapping up the shooting. C’est la vie. Still, it was a great project and a lot of fun to shoot. Many thanks to everyone involved!

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
