The “Bat Prius” (with video)

The Bat PriusCheck out the video!

Today, I attended the Clean Cities AltCar Conference & Expo, in Plano, Texas. I’ll have a full run down on what I saw there, including an EV I had not heard of before that may be available soon in Texas. I’m awaiting some powerpoint slides from the presenters I met.

In the meantime, I am going to introduce you to Stephane Burress, owner of “the Bat Prius,” or “Darth Prius.” I’ve said, in this very blog, that I’ve found the Prius to be a “frumpy looking” car. Stephane showed me how tricked out a Prius can become. In fact, I have a bit of Prius envy…

Stephane works at Texas Toyota in Grapevine, Texas, the suburb next the one in which I live. His title is Director of Toyota Perks. However, the Bat Prius is his personal car. He was gracious enough to give us a video tour of the Darth, which is posted here or on YouTube.

This is one sweet ride and I’m happy to eat my words. Great job, Stephane!

If you’d like to get in touch with him, he’s at steph@toyotaperks.com.

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
