A week that lives in infamy or a vacation opportunity?

Average Sales by WeekAs I mentioned in my most recent sales report, I have never sold a vehicle between the dates of November 1st and November 7th, EVER. I had seen three Novembers come and go and that is the one and only week where I’ve never been able to sell a vehicle.

The tradition, unfortunately, continues.

What’s up with that?

It’s not that I take a breather. As a commissioned salesperson, I am always on the hunt for a sale, but that week, I’ve always earned zero. Traffic has been down, but not zero. I got people into Finance, but they never came out with a new vehicle registration.

Some events may play a role. There is a NASCAR race every November that draws a lot of the Chevy crowd away. Halloween just happened and Thanksgiving is approaching. This year, you can add a frightening election to the mix.

Maybe next year, I’ll take my vacation that week…

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
