Classic Chevrolet has a regularly running comic book-like ad, as part of their weekly newspaper ads. This week, they’re focusing on the new EV & Hybrid Sales Center (or Electric Avenue)!
About the author
An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone. This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

I really admire the owner of Classic. He has foresight and guts that most car dealers don’t.
I agree. He’s invested quite a large amount of money, in the new building. Sales are down, across the board, in the DFW area and we’re not immune. When you’re speaking with friends, about hybrids & EVs, please mention what we’re doing. It is important that the dealerships and salespeople that do not support GM’s efforts to move into the future, see us succeed. THAT is the only way to move America into the future. Environmentalism, enthusiasm, etc. will not prevail without financial success.
It is important to remember that after the oil embargoes of the late 1970’s, which produced long lines at gas stations, sky high gasoline prices and scarcity of gas, Americans quickly moved back to large vehicles, once prices dropped in the early 80s. We voluntarily held out our arms and allowed ourselves to be shackled to the politics of the Middle-East.
Today, we’re paying the price of our short-sightedness in huge military budgets, incredible deficits and violence.
Hey Buzz, quick random question for you. I received a warranty notification from Chevy that there is a recall on my Spark EV regarding the airbag deployment.
I know your dealership does not sell the car, but if I bring it into your dealership, they will be able to take care of the warranty work correct? I’d rather bring it to you guys than the dealership nearby me.
I would be surprised, if we couldn’t. I recommend you do this, before driving to Classic Chevrolet: Call Tim Foote, in the Service Department 817-421-7244. He is a Service Advisor, who also owns a Volt. Verify with him. Also it’s important you make a reservation for service, in order to get a loaner vehicle (if your Spark EV is under warranty). If you need a loaner, make sure you let Tim know, when you set up the appointment.
Awesome, thanks! I figured they would be able to.
I’ll give Tim a call this afternoon to make sure.
