Another step in my electric vehicle journey

Today, I made another career change. I retired…sort of. I am no longer a salesperson at Classic Chevrolet. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last six years there, learned a lot about the car business and made a lot of friends. The dealership’s owner, Tom Durant, has an open-door policy unlike any I’ve experienced in any other industry. Classic Chevrolet has done virtually everything I asked of them and their dominance of EV sales in DFW show the results of our combined efforts.

From the bottom of my heart: Thank you Classic Chevrolet!

My work area hasn’t looked this clean in a long time.

The “sort of” comment about my retirement means I will not stop working toward EV adoption. I will continue the blog. I will continue to speak publicly about the environment, renewable energy and EVs. I am developing a video series for consumers to answer their many, many questions. I am also developing a video series, for vehicle salespeople, to teach them about selling EVs. I will be delivering training, in person, to dealerships’ sales and management staff, to increase their EV sales.

I will do more with TxETRA, as the Director of Dealer Outreach and a board member, to make presentations to government entities, dealer organizations, electric utilities, charging infrastructure organizations and others, to show how we can work together to achieve the goal of transportation electrification and a cleaner environment.

I am heading into a new adventure that is a continuation of my current adventure. My trusty Chevy Volt is loaded up with all my gear and heading into my future.

Will speak about EVs for food…

If you know of an organization in (or near) Texas that would like someone to present about the subject matter I mentioned, please get them in touch with me or send them here.

As always, stay tuned for developments!

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
