About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

  1. Haha hang in there…

I’m surprised when everyone freaked out about this. Chevy was more or less saying this would happen since early spring. Which is why I’ve always been prepared to buy it next spring/summer similar to the Volt. ๐Ÿ™‚ Tesla will be doing the same whenever they get around to releasing the Model III.

Model III and Bolt sales in Cali will dwarf Texas Bolt sales… even though I wish it wasn’t so!

    From Hybrid Cars in May:

‘Itโ€™s believed the Bolt could go through a rollout launch prior to nationwide availability, with first deliveries in states meeting California Air Resources Board zero-emission rules, but this was only implied by Ligouri, not confirmed.

โ€œWhile distribution plans are not yet finalized, we want to first satisfy demand in markets where EV acceptance is strongest,โ€ Ligouri said.’

  2. If one is a Lyft driver, does one move up in the line?

Seems like I read that GM is supplying Lyft or Lyft drivers with Bolts.

    1. I do not believe so, but not being in California, I am not certain. One of my clients said he has a deal worked out to buy a Bolt from a CA dealership and have it shipped to TX. He’s not a Lyft driver, as far as I am aware.
