Chevy Bolt EV update

Bolt EV PrototypeThe Chevy Bolt EV has been in production for a month now and I still don’t know when Classic Chevrolet will receive one. We have not received any allocation (available slots to order a vehicle) for the Bolt EV, and with order-to-delivery times of about eight weeks, this means we probably won’t see one in Texas, until 2017.

General Motors has made no announcement, but two magazines have stated the first batch of Bolts is going to California and Oregon, to Lyft drivers. GM made a half-billion dollar investment in Lyft, so that may be what’s going on.

You may recall that something similar happened with the 2016 Chevy Volt.

I currently have a list of 47 people who wish to be kept updated, via email. If you’d like to join the list, send me your email address.

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
