EGO lawn equipment review (with video) **Updated**

I partnered with my good friend, Charles Mills to review the EGO Power+ lawn mower, line trimmer and leaf blower. Good times! Check it out!

Update: Unfortunately, the battery of Charles’ mower quit accepting charges. The charger’s lights informed him of the issue. He contacted EGO and a new battery was sent immediately. Great customer service! (and no, they did not know he was associated with this blog or the review)Ego Lithium-ion battery-powered lawn mowerEGO String Trimmer

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

    1. I’d be happy to! I’ve been thinking of writing (or shooting) an update. The 2nd mowing season is almost over and the EGO Power+ equipment is still running strong. I have noticed no decrease in power or how long I can mow. GREAT PRODUCTS!!!

      1. That is great to hear! I have the string trimmer and blower on order and expect to receive them this week. You mentioned in the earlier update that the mower battery failed on Charles and he received a new battery. Have there been any additional issues with the mower or battery since then?

        1. We have both had one thing (not really a problem in my case) crop up. The clamps that hold the mower’s push handle in its extended position are connected to the mower’s kill switch. In other words, if the clamps on either side of the handle, becomes loose, the mower shuts down. The first time this happened to me, I thought the battery was failing. Once I realized I hadn’t clamped the handle in position, it worked perfectly. Charles has this same issue, but his clamps regularly come undone. He hasn’t contacted EGO yet to get it fixed, and his mower is out of warranty, so we’ll update his mower’s status, once he’s done that.
