Facebook groups for Dallas / Fort Worth owners

We can’t change the world if we don’t spread the word!

I’ve started a couple groups on Facebook. They are DFW Chevy Volt Owners and DFW Electric Vehicle Owners. There is already a Chevy Volt Owners group in Facebook, and I highly recommend joining it. The Chevy Volt Owners group is a great place to learn more about the Volt (whether you already own one or are considering getting one), find out about Volt-relate products, share your excitement with others and welcome new Volt owners into the fold.

The purpose I have in mind for the DFW groups is to have a Facebook group where we can do those things but also plan events and get-togethers. I would even like to see the creation of a local Volt owner’s club, where we could do picnics, road rallies, and maybe just join together in a parking lot or at a dealership, so people considering the Volt or other EVs can ask actual owners about their experiences.

We can’t change the world if we don’t spread the word!

The Chevy Volt Owners Facebook group is great, but I’ll probably never meet any of those people face-to-face. I’m looking for a more immediate connection to like-minded people.

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
