About the author
An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
Great photos. Thanks, Marvin. Thanks for posting them, Buzz.
Is there a price on it?
It’s about the size of what, a Nissan Juke, Versa Note, or a Leaf?
The Chevy Bolt EV is about the size of a Chevy Trax. The announced price starts at $37,495 (before $7,500 Federal Income Tax Credit). After the tax credit, the price is $29,995.
At that price after tax credit, is the Bolt going to sell like hotcakes? I am thinking yes.
Well Crud,
We were going to skip the Fair this year, but now I have to go!
I’m sure it’s a long shot, but do you know if they have one on the test drive track? That would be great to take it for a spin.
None for test drives…
Too bad! I figured as much, but it’s still worth dropping by to check out.
Have you driven the Bolt, Buzz? If so, what did you think about it? How does it compare to the Volt?
I have not. No General Motors training I have attended on the Bolt EV had one available to drive. I have read that it’s a little slower than the Volt but VERY roomy inside, due to the battery pack configuration..
