About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.

  1. Let’s get real.

Are Americans any more free than citizens of other democracies around the world? Probably less so, contrary to our national delusion.

Freedom to do what exactly? Smoke a joint to relieve nausea from chemotherapy? No, in most places.

Free and fair elections? Most certainly not, and the Supreme Court has just given its seal of approval to partisan gerrymandering which makes a mockery of representative democracy.

Freedom from what? Freedom from hunger? No. We are probably much less “free” from want of the necessities of life than people in numerous other industrialized democracies.

Freedom of corporations to make the planet uninhabitable? Oh yeah, we have that.

      1. Yes, and EVs are selling better in a number of other countries because those countries are encouraging their purchase.

Those countries want cleaner air for their people to breathe and less CO2 in the atmosphere to combat the planet’s biggest existential threat which our oligarchs pretend doesn’t exist. Here, the “free market” is doing a damn good job pushing ICE vehicles and making sure most people know nothing about the benefits of EVs.
