Nissan Leaf end-of-year sale!

Nissan LeafThe end of the 2012 model year is in sight and with the 2013 Leaf set to debut soon, some Nissan dealers are offering $9,775 rebates on leases through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. Some dealers are even offering incentives in addition to this deal! If you’ve been considering a Leaf, now is the time to call the dealers in your area. The offer ends on January, 2nd.

It has been well publicized that a Nissan executive said their marketing and sales approach was “arrogant,” and as shown in an earlier post on this blog, The Chevy Volt has been outselling the Leaf by about 56% (total sales to date). The 2013 Volt has been rumored to have more electric range than the current models and salespeople at my local Nissan dealer have stated that to me as well.

The Nissan website shows an offer, in my area, of a 36 month lease on a 2012 Leaf for $1,999 down, $219 per month. This deal includes a $9,075 cash back offer, not the full $9,775. The lease is for 12,000 miles per year.

If your commute is within the Leaf’s range, and you’re currently burning 17 gallons of gasoline per week, even with gas prices down around $3.00 per gallon, it’s like getting a car for free! (after the down payment and electricity to run it, that is)

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
