The other end of the carbon footprint

Six days after selling my first Chevrolet Volt, I had another big first. I sold my first 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. I’ve said many times this is probably the only car that could get me back to gasoline. It is truly beautiful and much more reminiscent of a Italian sports car than the American classic that it is. Fortunately, it’s beyond my means at this time.

StingrayMy boss, who thinks of me as “the Volt guy,” told me, “You seem to like working both extremes of the carbon footprint.”

I have to admit, it was fun to sell a Corvette. I’m not such a purist that I think I can sway everyone to an EV. I’m a realist. I talk to everyone about my Volt experiences. If the customer shows interest, we’ll take a deeper dive. If not, we move on to cars in which they’re interested.

Enjoy:Stingray

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
