This choked me up

One of my Volt clients pulled into the dealership and I said, “Hey stranger! What brings you in today?”
He said, “I came to give you this,” and handed me an envelope. I have to admit, it choked me up and my vision got a little blurry.

(Backstory) When Texas announced a new rebate and made it retroactive to any plug-in bought since September 1st of last year, I called every customer of mine who would qualify and told them about it. The ones I couldn’t reach by phone, I emailed. This customer and his wife bought their Volt FIVE months before I contacted them about the new rebate. They filed for and received their check from the state.

Their son needed a much larger vehicle, so he bought a plug-in Chrysler. When he took the required paperwork to the Chrysler dealership, they had no idea what he was talking about!

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
