Well, this is disappointing, Chevrolet.

Disappointing news.

I have had a deposit on the Blazer since it was possible to place one. I sold Chevy EVs & PHEVs for 6 years and really wanted to have the Blazer. Then there was the announcement that it would not include Apple CarPlay, which was probably a deal-breaker for me anyway. I do NOT want to have to pay an eternally ongoing subscription for infotainment services when those same services are already being paid for in my iPhone/AT&T data plan AND the iPhone lets me pick up right where I left off, on other devices.

There are too many good options out there that are priced at or below the announced pricing (Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5 & 6, Volkswagen I.D.4, Nissan Ariya, Ford Mustang Mach-e, Volvo C40 & XC40, Fisker Ocean, Canoo LV… if they make it to production of consumer models). Some of those do not qualify for the federal income tax credit…yet. But most of the OEMs have factories under construction that will fix that issue by the time I’m ready to buy.
Now, I’m even back to considering the higher priced I.D. Buzz, which is probably the best fit for our planned use (camping).

It’s always better to underpromise and overdeliver.

About the author

An accidental EVangelist: On my way to work at Apple one morning, my car was rear-ended (and totaled) by an SUV, driven by a guy playing with his smartphone.
This led me to get my first plug-in vehicle.
I started blogging about my experiences immediately.
A year later, in 2013, I was hired by the dealership as their "EVangelist."
I became a board member with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance (www.TxETRA.org) and perform public speaking in the DFW area regarding electric vehicles and environmental issues.
I also teach others how to sell plug-in vehicles or manage EV sales.
I'm on a mission.
