As announced by General Motors, the entry-level Bolt EV, the “LT” trim level, will start at $37,495, including destination charge, keeping Mary Barra’s promise that the Bolt would be priced “below $30,000, after income tax credit.” Of course, some people will not qualify for the entire tax credit. The upper trim level “Premier starts at $41,780, including destination charge (or $34,280 after tax credit).

The Volt has a price advantage over the Bolt EV, even though its hybrid nature makes it a more complex vehicle. However, the Volt hybrid and Bolt EV are not really competitors, but are complimentary, in Chevrolet’s lineup. Add to these the Malubu Hybrid, which is currently available and the 2017 Silverado hybrid pickup, coming soon, and you have a suite of solutions for more fuel-efficient transport.

Here is the configuration option/pricing screen for the lower-level Bolt EV (LT):

Here is the configuration option/pricing screen for the upper-level Bolt EV (Premier):

The pricing for the two trim levels and various options have been added to the AutoBook configuration software.
